This Christmas our house is louder, it’s true,
Because September arrived… with baby Ivy too!
She smiles at her siblings, coos sweet little tunes,
And just decided that nights are for snoozing (thank you!).
Bree turned nine—quite the year it’s been,
A dragon-loving reader with a book in her den.
Third grade adventures, homeschool in full gear,
Latin’s her favorite—Veni, vidi… cheer!
She’s helpful and kind, a big sister with flair,
Always ready to help (and always to share).
Judah is six, up early each day,
Before the sun’s up, his Legos must play.
Trucks, trains, dinosaurs are all in his path,
First grade’s exciting (especially the math).
If it has wheels or teeth or makes a loud sound,
You’ll probably find Judah somewhere around.
Hayley keeps everything running somehow—
The schoolroom, the farm, the then and the now.
Rabbits and ducks and guinea pigs too,
Scrub caps on Etsy (since what else wouldn’t she do?).
Book club, church, homeschool—she makes it all go,
With grace, grit, and coffee (lots of it, though).
Jacob keeps preaching and fixing things too,
Pastor by calling, handyman by virtue.
A children’s book published, check that off the list,
While juggling tools, sermons, and family bliss.
With sabbatical coming, there’s hope on the way,
Rest is a word we’re learning to say.
So this Christmas we’re tired, but joyfully so,
With one extra stocking and love all aglow.
From our growing crew to yours, near or far,
Merry Christmas to you—wherever you are.
🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄
Merry Christmas from Jacob, Hayley, Bree, Judah, and Ivy Prahlow
